The 23-year-old dancer shared his costume on TikTok, where he donned a gold fringe dress, a long brown wig, oversized sunglasses, and black heels, perfectly capturing Delvey’s unique style.

Adding humor to the tribute, Ezra Sosa lip-synced to Anna Delvey’s now-famous elimination moment on “Dancing with the Stars.”

After her elimination alongside Tori Spelling on the September 24 episode of “Dancing with the Stars,” Delvey gave a brutally honest response about her experience. When asked by host Julianne Hough what she would take away from her time on the show, Delvey, 33, simply replied, “Nothing.”

Of course, Ezra had to use the iconic moment as the sound for his TikTok video, which ultimately gave Delvey her stamp of approval, as she reposted the video to her own social media page.

Fans also approved of Ezra’s costume choice, with one of his followers commenting, “I’m so early, but you’re so iconic it RADIATES.”

“OH YOU ATE THIS UP BABES,” another said.

On October 10, Sosa reflected on the journey in an Instagram post, sharing a photo of his new “nothing” tattoo, a nod to Delvey’s parting words. “I’ve been processing so much from my first season as a pro, and while there’s been a lot to unpack, there’s been a lot of good—more than I expected,” he began. “It wasn’t easy; the highs were incredible, but the lows were challenging in ways I wasn’t prepared for.”

Delvey was surprised by her early departure from “DWTS,” especially after receiving enthusiastic praise and encouragement in the season’s opening episodes.

“I thought, like, ‘Well, they were building me up.’ It’s like, ‘Well, only if you smile more, only if you do X, Y, Z, it’s going to be so much better,’” she told Spelling on her “Misspelling” podcast. “It felt like they put so much effort in trying to get me on the show and make me feel comfortable, just to eliminate me this early.”

She continued, “I see it, yeah, like an attempt of an embarrassment for us to get eliminated before Eric [Roberts] or Reginald [VelJohnson] in a dancing competition. Even though in the end it’s not that big of a deal.”

Who Is Anna Delvey And Why Was Her Casting On ‘DWTS’ Controversial?

Delvey, the convicted fraudster infamous for posing as a wealthy German heiress to infiltrate New York City’s elite social circles, was eliminated from “DWTS” on September 24, 2024. Her exit followed a performance to KT Tunstall’s “Suddenly I See,” alongside professional dance partner Sosa.

Delvey, whose real name is Anna Sorokin, was convicted on April 25, 2019, on multiple charges, including attempted first-degree grand larceny, second and third-degree grand larceny, and theft of services, after defrauding individuals, hotels, and banks to sustain her elaborate false identity.

Her casting on the popular show stirred controversy, as many fans voiced frustration over the decision to feature a convicted felon in the season’s lineup.

Delvey shared that she faced considerable “negativity” during her first two weeks on “DWTS,” remarking that it felt as though fans “just decided to hate us” from the outset.

“I don’t think I’ve done the worst job on the show,” Delvey remarked, noting that she felt she had “improved” between her two “DWTS” routines. She continued, “We got eliminated and people who were, I think, below us got to stay on the show and makes it a bit sus for a show that’s called ‘Dancing with the Stars,’ and not like ‘Gossiping with the Stars’ or ‘Making Friends with the Stars.’”

Delvey grew up in a middle-class family in Germany, where her father worked as a truck driver and her mother managed a small convenience store.

At 19, she moved to Paris to study fashion, gradually crafting the persona of “Anna Delvey.” In 2013, while attending New York Fashion Week for Purple Magazine, where she was employed, she decided to make New York City her home.

In New York, Delvey adopted the identity of a wealthy German heiress, skillfully weaving herself into the city’s elite social circles. She financed this illusion by scamming individuals, hotels, and banks, often using invalid credit cards and forged bank statements to sustain her image of luxury. Delvey even conceived the idea for the Anna Delvey Foundation, a private club and arts organization intended to attract wealthy investors and further cement her fabricated persona.

“Dancing with the Stars” is broadcast on ABC and Disney+ every Tuesday at 8 p.m. ET.
