Warriors suffer historic 51-point loss to Grizzlies

On a night in which the Golden State Warriors lost to the Memphis Grizzlies by 51 points, Stephen Curry and Draymond Green both put up stat lines that they never put up in their careers.

Both Curry and Green went without making a field goal attempt in the game. Curry went 0-7 (0-6 3PT) and Green went 0-4 from the field.

For Curry, it is the first time that he has went without making a field goal in a game in which he played 12+ minutes.

For Green, his +/- of -42 is the lowest for a player in the history of the NBA for a player that played less than 20 minutes in a game.

It is the first time ever that Curry and Green have played a game together with neither of the two making a shot from the field.

The loss for Golden State was its fourth in the last five games and dropped its record to 14-12 on the season, and it has not been quite the year they’d hoped for thus far.

Curry is averaging just 23.0 points per game, which would be his lowest over a full season since the 2012-13 season when he averaged 22.9 points per game.

Green’s 44.2% from the field would be his lowest over a full season since the 2016-17 season.

The departure of Klay Thompson has appeared to loom large, as Thompson is finding a groove with the Mavericks and Brandin Podziemski and Buddy Hield have not filled the void that Thompson’s departure left.

The Warriors will certainly need Curry, Green and the rest of the team to come together and play the same Warriors basketball we have become accustomed to seeing over the last decade.
