Travis Kelce Reveals Where Taylor Swift Stands On NFL Retirement

The high-profile couple has been dating publicly since September 2023. Following the end of her record-breaking Eras Tour, Swift has recently decided to spend more time in Nashville in order to stay closer to the Kansas City Chiefs tight end.

There has been a lot of speculation that Travis Kelce is getting ready to retire from the NFL, following on the heels of his brother, Jason Kelce. In addition to a cameo appearance in “Happy Gilmore 2” and a full-fledged acting role in “Grotesquerie,” Kelce has also hosted the “Are You Smarter Than A Celebrity?” game show.

While he wasn’t at football practice, he was also traveling around the world to visit Swift during her Eras Tour in several different countries. Now that the tour has wrapped, however, he has continued to work with his brother on their highly successful “New Heights” podcast. With all of that going on, many fans have speculated that Kelce might be looking to retire.

During a recent appearance on Stephen A. Smith’s show, the NFL star revealed that the “You Belong With Me” singer has “fully encouraged” him to “enjoy playing this game” and continue with his football career.

“’She loves coming to Arrowhead and coming to the games and cheering for me. I have all the support in the world to keep chasing these dreams,” he continued.

In October, the Kansas City Chiefs tight end will turn 36. With that in mind, he has considered retirement ahead of the playoffs this weekend.

“It changes every single day man,” Kelce said. “I love everything that I’m doing in this building. But at the end of the day, I’m not having that extreme success on the field as I have individually man. I’m excited for these next couple games to play up at Arrowhead, to finish this season off.”

“I’ll reevaluate it as I always do. And I’ll probably tell myself how much I love this thing and I’ll come back next year,” he continued. “It’s something you have to keep in perspective man. I never want to get to the point where I’m not helping this team win or I’m hurting this team more than I’m helping this team.”

He went on to say, “As long as I’m coming out here and playing good football and enjoying coming into the building every day with my guys, you’ll see me in a Chiefs uniform.”

On January 13, Kelce discussed his relationship with the “Love Story” singer during an appearance on The Pat McAfee Show. During the interview, host Pat McAfee asked if Swift is still using him as motivation for her songs.

“Let’s just say you’re hanging and out and having a little dinner and all of the sudden the creative juice sparks and the absolute beast that you’re sitting with who is going to go down as maybe the most famous icon in the history of music… are you a motivator every single time?” McAfee asked.

“Oh yeah,” Kelce replied. “You know it.”

When asked if Swift was working on an album about a “good” guy, Kelce replied, “There might be a few,” adding, “You know I can’t say, you know I can’t say… any of that.”

Kelce went on to say that he’ll “never chime in” on her creative process but he does want “to support it” in any way that he can. “I’m here to see where it can go,” he added.

On January 18, the Kansas City Chiefs will face the Houston Texans in the first playoff game of the season.

“Is there going to be an aura in that place, a little bit extra? You know what we’re talking about,” McAfee asked, seemingly looking for a hint as to whether or not Swift would be in attendance.

“Oh yeah, you know it, baby,” Kelce replied, playing coy. “It’s playoff football, man.
