In contemporary culture, a prepper is a person who makes a plan, gathers resources and obtains skills in order to be prepared for emergencies, disasters, and survival situations.
It’s usually considered to be the realm of fringe radical types who turn their back on our contemporary society.
But now, the flower of the Liberal-Globalist elites has fully invested themselves in a prepper-like effort, as the European Union today (26) urged citizens in the old continent to stockpile food, water, and other essentials to last at least 72 hours.
The reasons for that are the perceived (by the EU establishment) threats of war, cyberattacks, the inevitable ‘climate change’, and also disease pandemics.
Associated Press reported:
“The call to action for the EU’s 450 million citizens comes as the 27-nation bloc rethinks its security, especially after the Trump administration warned that Europe must take more responsibility for it.”
“’Today’s threats facing Europe are more complex than ever, and they are all interconnected’, said Preparedness and Crisis Management Commissioner Hadja Lahbib as she unveiled a new strategy for dealing with future disasters.”
The Commission ‘does not wish to be seen as alarmist’ – despite shilling for imaginary ‘Global warming’ and ‘Russia is coming’ threat narratives morning, noon, and night.
Lahbib stated that it’s important to have essential supplies for at least 72 hours in a crisis – a quick crisis, granted, but hey! – they are newbies in the ‘prepper’ world.
The Commissioner listed food, water, flashlights, ID papers, medicine and shortwave radios as things to stock.
“Lahbib said the EU should build up a ‘strategic reserve’ and stockpile other critical resources including firefighting planes; medical, energy and transport equipment; and specialized assets against chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear threats,
The EU’s plans are similar to those in France, Finland and Sweden.”
