Tom Brady Still Hung Up On Last Year’s Netflix Roast

It has been a year since Tom Brady allowed A-listers to roast him for a Netflix special; however, his regrets are not over. The retired athlete recently addressed why he would never participate in another comedy roast, claiming his family suffered significantly from his first and last involvement.

“The Greatest Roast of All Time: Tom Brady” aired last May, featuring several jabs about his divorce from Gisele Bündchen. Last year, sources claimed the Brazilian supermodel was “deeply disappointed” that her ex-husband allowed their family and her new relationship to be diminished for laughs.

Tom Brady and Gisele Bündchen were married for over a decade before ending things in 2022, years after welcoming two children.

During a recent appearance on “Impaulsive,” Brady shared his regrets about the Netflix roast with host Logan Paul. The YouTube clip captured him recounting how his family’s reaction to the comedy special ruined his experience.

Brady confessed that he was initially happy about the roast, as he never took the jabs seriously until his children burst his bubble. “We got done, we were — everybody was on Cloud Nine. And I think that moment, I’ll never forget, you know?” he told the host, adding:

“And I’ll never forget when I talked to my kids the next day, and I was, like, I felt like, you know, a stake through the heart.”

The NFL legend noted his kids broke his heart with their reaction as they wondered why he allowed people to berate their family for fun. He claimed his children asked him, “What was the point of that?”.

The former athlete shares two children with his ex-wife and a son from a previous relationship with actress Bridget Moynahan.

Brady labeled the roast a parent “f-ck up” moment, describing it as one of the experiences where people don’t realize their mistake until it’s too late. His recent comments mark one of the several instances he has been vocal about how much he regrets hurting his family with the Netflix special. 

Besides his children, Brady’s ex-wife was also saddened by the roast and how it diminished their relationship alongside her blossoming romance with her Jiu-Jitsu instructor, Joaquim Valente.

A source shared her feelings last year, with The Blast reporting they claimed the model disapproved of the “irresponsible” jokes. The insider noted the Brazilian beauty “was deeply disappointed by the disrespectful portrayal of her family on Sunday evening’s roast show.”

They claimed Bündchen was left to pick up the pieces following Brady’s Netflix special, stressing that her children were negatively affected by the crude jokes.

According to the insider, Brady’s roast could not have occurred at a worse time, as a terrible flood was plaguing Brazil.

“This past week, Gisele has been tirelessly dedicated to aiding those in need in her home state of Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil, which is grappling with the worst flooding in its history,” they explained.

“She was concerned about families affected by the devastating floods, so to hear her life being joked about was very disappointing,” the source added. During the roast, stars like Nikki Glaser, Kevin Hart, Julian Edelman, Kim Kardashian, and more threw jabs at Brady and his broken relationship with Bündchen.

Glaser, especially, had plenty to say about the duo’s failed marriage and did not hold back. In one of her jokes she referenced Bündchen’s Jiu-Jitsu beau, saying: “How much would it suck for Tom… omg, just knowing your ex-wife’s new boyfriend could beat your a-s while eating hers.”

Another jab saw Glaser joking about how “the only thing dumber” than Brady  agreeing to the roast was when he said, “‘Hey babe, you should try jiu-jitsu.'” She also noted he had seven rings from his championship wins, adding: “Well, eight now that Gisele gave hers back.”

Two months before Brady shared his roast regrets, The Blast reported the former athlete had not given up on marriage. A source shared the claim in March, alleging NFL fans could see their beloved star walk down the aisle a second time.

“Tom is not completely closed off to the idea of getting married again, but isn’t sure what the future holds,” the informant said. They noted he had been “casually dating” and “doing great” while prioritizing his children and career.
