Are ‘Mormon Wives’ Stars Taylor And Dakota Back Together?

Taylor Frankie Paul and Dakota Mortensen have had a wild ride of a relationship with many mixed signals. Fans can’t tell if they are trying to work things out, already back together, or just able to be friends and co-parent flawlessly. Based on recent social media posts, the confusion goes deeper.

Taylor Frankie Paul recently chatted with PEOPLE and shared some insight into her relationship with Dakota Mortensen.

Fans of “The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives” are fully aware of Paul and Mortensen’s rocky relationship. And to add to any confusion about where the two stand in their relationship, things that Paul posts on social media certainly makes fans think twice.

Are they together? Are they working on being a couple again? Or are they just really great friends and co-parents to their son? These are questions fans would love answers to, and perhaps some answers will come to the surface when season 2 is released next week on Hulu.

When PEOPLE approached the subject of their relationship, Paul said, it “depends on the day.”

“I feel like right now, we are individually working on ourselves and trying to heal, for not only ourselves, but for our son. So that’s been the main focus the last few months, last half of a year,” she said. “But to me, I don’t know, I never say never, but right now it’s just individually trying to heal and work on things we needed to work on.”

Just a week or so ago, both Paul and Mortensen had some photos of the two of them together at Stagecoach looking super cozy and comfortable. They have since been deleted from both their Instagram pages.

The carousel the photos were in on Instagram is still up but the photos in question are now gone. The post on Paul’s Instagram is captioned, “I never let my heart go all the way…with my cast mates and co parents. Thank you @stagecoach for having us.

While the photos may have disappeared from Instagram recently, they can still be seen in a TikTok video by Stephanie Tleiji, who goes by @stephwithdadeets on the app.

“Ok, Taylor and Dakota, are you guys together or not?” Tleiji said in her video. “I just saw these photos that Taylor posted. Her caption, ‘I never let my heart go all the way,’ she says this because that’s the song she uses for this post, ‘with my castmates and my co-parents.’  Like we get it you guys do co-parenting but you guys are not co-parenting at Stagecoach, because your kid isn’t there.”

Tleiji noted that Mortensen went back to following Paul on social media, but she hasn’t gone back to following him….yet.

While it may look like there’s lots of relationship confusion between Paul and Mortensen, they both put co-parenting on the front burner, as well as Paul’s ex-husband, Tate, who she shares two children with.

“As of right now, for me and my first baby daddy, Tate, it’s always been really good. Of course, when we were post-divorce, it was an adjustment phase,” she told PEOPLE. “But overall, we’ve always been great friends, so it’s been very smooth sailing with him, and we’re very flexible with that.”

Co-parenting with Mortensen has been a bit more of a “struggle” for Paul.

“Obviously, there’s still feelings involved,” she explained. “There’s not wanting this but needing this to happen.”
