The University of North Carolina football is looking to hire a PR expert amid the ongoing controversy surrounding coach Bill Belichick and his girlfriend, Jordon Hudson.

Belichick’s relationship with Hudson has come under scrutiny not just for the age difference between them but also for how she treats him in public.

Bill Belichick’s family is also said to be concerned about Jordon Hudson’s influence on the coach and how it’s detrimental to his legacy.

The University of North Carolina is repeatedly looking to strengthen their public relations department amid the unending drama surrounding head coach Bill Belichick and his girlfriend Jordon Hudson.

According to reports, the University is close to securing the services of former Chicago Bears PR chief Brandon Faber as they look to go beyond the drama Belichick and Hudson have been embroiled in.

“Faber is being hired by UNC, rather than Belichick himself. His title is to be determined, but his role will be the de facto head of football communications,” Sports Illustrated‘s Albert Breer reported.

It comes amid reports that the recent stint of controversies has strained ties between UNC and Belichick.

Former ESPN host Pablo Torre said that things have gotten so messy between Belichick, Hudson, and UNC that there’s an “absolutely real chance” Belichick is not the head coach by the time Week 1 rolls around.

The team seemingly registered their displeasure with Hudson when they banned the 24-year-old from accessing their football facilities.

During last week’s Friday installment of “Pablo Torre Finds Out,” Torre claimed that sources told him two senior executives in the athletics department decided that Hudson was no longer allowed on the North Carolina football field or inside its football facility.

However, the University denied it in a statement, saying that she is welcome at their facilities.

“While Jordon Hudson is not an employee at the University or Carolina Athletics, she is welcome to the Carolina Football facilities,” the statement read. “Jordon will continue to manage all activities related to Coach Belichick’s personal brand outside of his responsibilities for Carolina Football and the University.”

“Don’t think you’ll be hearing much from Jordon moving forward,” one source said.

Meanwhile, Belichick’s family is reportedly concerned about the possibility of Hudson tarnishing his image and destroying his legacy as a good coach if she continues to court controversies.

The 73-year-old Tar Heels head coach started dating Hudson in early 2023 after initially meeting two years prior.

“There is deep worry for how detrimental Jordon can be for not just North Carolina but Bill’s legacy, reputation — everything he has built and worked for over decades,” a family source told Torre, per the New York Post.

Torre explained that Belichick’s family “has been digging into Jordon Hudson as well in a parallel way,” adding that “they are also in a rabbit hole.”

Belichick would be thrown back into the spotlight as he’s set to hold an interview with Michael Strahan this Friday on “Good Morning America.”

It comes after he endured an embarrassing moment on live TV when his girlfriend cut off a reporter who had asked him about how they met.

“There was one famous story that was witnessed by, I am told, dozens of people, including freelance contractors who were hired to work on the set of a seven-figure scripted commercial,” Torre said, going on to explain that the said commercial was a different one from the Dunkin’ ad that aired in February.

The podcast host added that witnesses said that day on set was “highly unusual,” as Hudson was only someone “they kind of heard about” but started “pitching herself for a role” that wasn’t part of the script, adding that it would also serve as “the hard launch” of their relationship.

Despite the mounting criticism, Belichick has stood solidly behind his girlfriend and has acknowledged how close they’ve grown since they became an item.

He even referred to her as his “muse” in his recently published book, “The Art of Winning: Lessons from My Life in Football.”

Hudson is believed to be helping him with his personal brand and media presence, including interviews and public messaging.
