Let’s see if I have this right. The federal government deploys U.S. military personnel, not just the National Guard, but also the U.S. Marines, to tamp down protests by its own citizens. Op-ed author Sakara Remmu sees the problem being Seattle’s police chief signaling he will defend “Seattle residents’ First Amendment rights against the overreach of the federal government”? That’s the problem? Where in history has being silent in the presence of fascism proven beneficial to democracy? No, thank you.
