Northwest ICE Processing Center: History of GEO abuses

To the story “UW study: ICE hasn’t sanctioned state facility over abuses” (July 18, A1), I would add, “nor is it likely to do so.”

The health and safety issues at the Northwest ICE Processing Center in Tacoma, which is run by a private company, GEO Group, have been known for years.

GEO is an international company on the New York Stock Exchange and the abuses happening in Tacoma are common to all GEO detention centers.
