Ravenna Varsity: ‘Why change a good thing?’

Re: “Ravenna Varsity Restaurant closing after 60-plus years” (July 31, Business):

Ravenna Varsity is as comforting as a porch swing or a walk in the forest. It’s been my family’s go-to place for over 20 years. I love the red Naugahyde booths, the staff and the sweet-potato hash. It’s so successful I often have to wait for a table and it’s been like that forever.

Why change a good thing? What is wrong with this landlord? With so much changing all the time in Seattle, a regular place is a rarity. Some would call it retro; I call it home. Please, landlord, change your mind.

    Marianne Scruggs, Seattle
