TEHRAN: Iran’s overseas ministry mentioned on Saturday (Sep 28) the trail of Hezbollah chief Hassan Nasrallah will proceed despite his killing in an Israeli air strike in Beirut, after a yr of cross-border clashes between the 2 sides.

“The fantastic path of the chief of the resistance, Hassan Nasrallah, will proceed and his sacred purpose might be realised within the liberation of Quds (Jerusalem), God prepared,” overseas ministry spokesman Nasser Kanani mentioned in a put up on social media X, mourning Nasrallah’s loss of life.

Lebanon’s Hezbollah group, armed and financed by Iran, on Saturday confirmed Nasrallah had been killed, after Israel mentioned it had “eradicated” him in an air strike a day earlier.

The assertion confirmed he was killed with different group members “following the treacherous Zionist strike on the southern suburbs” of Beirut.

Iranian Vice President Mohammad Javad Zarif additionally expressed his condolences, praising Nasrallah as a “image of the struggle towards oppression”.

Hezbollah is listed as terrorist group by the USA.
