It is indeed time to step up. As the budget cuts take effect, we, as caring and concerned citizens, can do even more to help struggling families, seniors or people with disabilities put food on the table. We can do more than donating canned goods or money or volunteering our time at our local food banks.
We can email our members of Congress, schedule meetings and meet face to face with our members of Congress as well as attend any town halls they have. Members of Congress will be in town through the month of August. This provides a prime opportunity to let them know about policies that matter most to you, build relationships and hold them accountable.
