Unsealed Texts Expose Secret PR War On Blake Lively

Blake Lively’s ongoing feud with “It Ends With Us” director Justin Baldoni has taken a shocking new turn after court documents revealed explosive claims about a behind-the-scenes smear campaign.

Newly unsealed records show Baldoni allegedly hired a high-priced social media “guru” to secretly sway online narratives against Lively during their highly publicized fallout.

Lively’s lawyers claim the evidence proves her reputation was targeted, while Baldoni’s camp insists any backlash against the actress was purely organic.

On August 24, 2025, the Daily Mail reported that new court documents revealed Baldoni’s production company, Wayfarer Studios, paid social media consultant Jed Wallace $90,000 for a three-month contract.

In addition, emails showed that the actor’s publicist, Melissa Nathan, introduced Wallace to Wayfarer’s co-founder Jamey Heath, describing him as someone who had worked on “monumental” projects around the world.

Wallace himself wrote in one email that he would operate “in lockstep” with Nathan’s firm but remain “engaged separately.”

The invoices showed that he was paid $30,000 in August, September, and October 2024.

The consultant, who once described himself on LinkedIn as a “hired gun” with a “proprietary formula for defining artists and trends,” was brought in at the height of tensions between Blake Lively and Baldoni.

The outlet explained that texts between Nathan and Heath suggested Wallace’s work went far beyond monitoring social chatter.

Surprisingly, Nathan outlined a $25,000-per-month plan for “creation of social fan engagement to go back and forth with any negative accounts, helping to change narrative and stay on track.”

Additionally, she stated that the services would be “untraceable.”

A source familiar with Wallace’s hiring told the Daily Mail that this meant his team could use anonymous accounts to push pro-Baldoni stories and engage in online debates with the actress’s fans.

While the insider admitted that much of the negativity toward Lively had happened “organically” from real people, her lawyers insisted that the messages showed evidence of a coordinated smear campaign.

A spokesperson for Lively told the outlet, “There is an overwhelming amount of evidence documenting the smear campaign instigated by Justin Baldoni, Melissa Nathan, Jed Wallace and the rest of the Wayfarer Parties. All you need to do is look at Melissa Nathan’s texts, Baldoni’s responses, and Jed Wallace’s ‘services.’”

Amid the new revelation, Wallace has strongly denied the allegations, claiming he was only paid to monitor social media for Baldoni’s team.

In addition, he is suing Lively for defamation.

Speaking to the Daily Mail, the social media consultant’s attorney, Chip Babcock, noted that his client had never crossed paths with the Hollywood star.

“Mr Wallace who is a very private person has never met or spoken to Ms. Lively. Ever. He has not engaged in a smear campaign against her at any point in time,” he said, adding that Lively’s claims were false statements.

The filings also included text exchanges between Justin Baldoni’s team that highlight the chaos behind the scenes.

Nathan’s employee, Katie Case, mocked the 38-year-old’s decision to market “It Ends With Us,” a story about domestic violence, as if it were a lighthearted romance.

She wrote in one group chat, “Someone has to tell them to grow up – they promoted a movie about DOMESTIC VIOLENCE as if it was a silly rom com. What did they expect?”

She even shared an Instagram post from Blake Lively telling fans to “wear your florals” to the theater, adding, “Like come on. We had NOTHING to do with that.”

Another person in the chat said the “Gossip Girl” star’s bad press was “organic stuff from real people making TikToks – not bots.”

Justin Baldoni Responds To Blake Lively’s Claim Of Deposition Leak

The new revelation comes a few weeks after Baldoni’s legal team denied Lively’s claim that they leaked private details from her deposition to the press.

As reported by The Blast, the 41-year-old’s lawyers argued that Lively had no proof. “She does not cite any evidence. This is not surprising as there is none,” they said.

They also explained that many people had access to the transcript, not just them.

According to the filing, Lively herself, her husband Ryan Reynolds, her legal team, and even the catering staff who were present could have seen the documents.

Baldoni’s attorneys also noted that they only filed the full transcript under seal, which is standard procedure.

On the other hand, Lively’s spokesperson stood firm, saying deposition testimony is supposed to remain private and that they were “very pleased with the outcome of her deposition.”

They added that she looked forward to questioning Baldoni and the other defendants next.
