Reality TV personality Courtney Stodden was seen leaving a Beverly Hills plastic surgeon’s office on Wednesday, embracing another step in their ongoing beauty journey. The 31-year-old star, who first made headlines after marrying “Green Mile” actor Doug Hutchison as a teenager, was escorted out of Dr. Gary Motykie’s clinic with their face carefully wrapped in bandages. Though the bandages and swelling hint at a few weeks of healing ahead, Stodden remains unfazed by online criticism, embracing their journey of reinvention with confidence and grace.

Stodden was photographed leaving the clinic in a wheelchair, supported by a nurse and joined by their husband, movie producer Jared Safier. With their nose carefully wrapped and swelling evident from what appeared to be another rhinoplasty procedure, their eyes were nearly closed during recovery. Even so, Stodden exuded confidence, turning the hospital walkway into her own kind of runway, proving they can bring poise and presence anywhere.

Despite their condition, Stodden’s husband stayed by their side, gently kissing them on the head and checking in as they were escorted into their car. The couple, who tied the knot last year, were later seen speaking softly to one another before driving away.

    Who Is Dr. Gary Motykie?

Stodden’s latest transformation was handled by Dr. Gary Motykie, a well-known Beverly Hills plastic surgeon whose website boasts “specialized expertise in rhinoplasty, revision rhinoplasty, and facial rejuvenation.” Motykie has a high-profile roster of clients and is recognized for both cosmetic and reconstructive procedures.

Given their history and the precision involved in rhinoplasty, it’s likely Stodden chose Motykie for his reputation in refining and repairing previous work.

This isn’t the first time Stodden has gone under the knife. In 2016, they underwent a rhinoplasty performed by Dr. Robert Kotler to address a bump on their nose and improve their breathing. At the time, they admitted they felt self-conscious about her profile, especially in photos and on red carpets. Dr. Kotler also revealed the surgery addressed nasal blockage and sinus issues, meaning it wasn’t just cosmetic.

In addition to their nose work, Stodden has also had a breast augmentation and has spoken openly about being known for their looks. “I’m responsible because I put myself out there like that, that’s how I look,” they told E! News. “So obviously I know that some people will have a problem with saying, ‘Oh, you’re like a sex object, how could you do that to yourself?'”

“People are going to judge somebody regardless, if they’re in the media or otherwise. They just judge,” they shrugged. “But I’m happy with the way that I look.”

    Stodden Reflects On Past Exploitation

Courtney Stodden has been candid about the lasting effects of being thrust into the spotlight at such a young age, opening up about how exploitation and objectification deeply harmed their sense of self. Labeled a “child bride” in the media, Stodden recalls how constant scrutiny and sexualization left them struggling with insecurity.

“Seeing paparazzi photos of my body made me hate myself,” they told Yahoo Life, reflecting on how relentless criticism compounded the challenges of being a vulnerable teenager. “I had very horrible self-talk, very negative thinking. And it didn’t help to find myself in a slut-shaming storm of my undeveloped body, which just exacerbated my insecurities… I was broken down to the point of analyzing every inch of my body, and it got to the point of body dysmorphia.”

Despite those painful experiences, Stodden says they are now in a much healthier place. “My relationship with my body today is so much more healthy than it was even a year ago,” they explained. “I do believe that I am on a trajectory of really learning what it is to be confident in myself. Truly, truly confident. Still, I struggle every day.”

Stodden admits that, as a teenager, they often felt pressure to conform to unrealistic beauty standards and struggled with the idea of what it meant to “look like a woman.”

“I felt like I wasn’t living up to the standards of society of what a woman is supposed to look like,” they recalled. Wanting to appear more grown-up, Stodden says they idolized Pamela Anderson, describing her as “the ultimate woman” and the image they thought they needed to emulate in order to mask their insecurities.

By 18, that pressure led Stodden to undergo breast augmentation surgery, a decision that quickly made headlines. “I made sure that I got a breast augmentation because I had the body of a child, but my personal situation behind closed doors and my career at the time really called for this overtly sexual image that I couldn’t necessarily completely fulfill,” they explained.

Today, Stodden says they’ve finally reached a place of empowerment where outside opinions no longer hold weight. After years of chasing acceptance and molding themselves to fit other people’s expectations, the reality star has shifted their focus inward, prioritizing self-love, healing, and authenticity above all else.
