    Re: “Journalists turn in access badges, exit Pentagon rather than agree to new reporting rules” (Oct. 15, Nation):

    It was heartening to read of press unity in leaving the Pentagon as a body together.

    Disturbing though, to know what prompted this: new shortsighted policies, in particular from the leader of the “Department of War.”

    Shakespeare’s words from “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” seem well-fitting: “Hardhanded men that work in Athens here, Which never labored in their minds till now.”
