Nicole Kidman’s A-List Pal Admits She’s ‘Shocked’ By Her Divorce

Sources say Nicole Kidman, now back in Nashville, is focusing on her daughters and work, staying positive despite the emotional toll.

During her appearance on “The Wall with Dana Carvey and David Spade” podcast, Isla Fisher revealed that she had no idea her close friend Nicole Kidman was experiencing marital troubles before news broke about Kidman’s split from country singer Keith Urban.

The “Wedding Crashers” star briefly reacted to the shocking development while reflecting on her own recent separation from Sacha Baron Cohen.

“I’ve been married for 23 years. I only just got… separated, divorced,” Fisher, 48, said.

Host Dana Carvey then drew a comparison between Fisher and Kidman’s situations, asking if she felt a sense of understanding knowing her friend might be facing something similar.

“You’re friends with Nicole Kidman. And now maybe she’s going through something [similar],” Carvey noted.

“I’m really, really, really shocked,” Fisher responded. “I have left a message, I have not connected yet, but I don’t really wanna comment on that because there are children involved.”

In a lighter moment, co-host David Spade joked, “I left a like on one of her Instagram pictures, and I thought that was a lot. I thought that just shows I’m thinking about you.”

Fisher and Cohen announced their separation last year after more than two decades together and finalized their divorce in June 2025. The pair, who met in 2001 and married in an intimate Paris ceremony in 2010, share three children.

Meanwhile, Kidman, 58, and her country singer husband, Urban, 57, ended their marriage after nearly 20 years together.

The estranged couple shares two daughters, Sunday Rose, 17, and Faith Margaret, 14, who have reportedly been with the actress since her split from their father.

Just a day after news of the pair’s breakup surfaced, Kidman officially filed for divorce on September 30, citing “irreconcilable differences.”

Regarding the actual reason for their split, a source told Page Six that “sometimes relationships just run their course,” adding that Kidman “did not want the separation and was trying to save things” with Urban.

Other insiders claimed the couple had been living apart “since the beginning of summer,” with Urban reportedly moving into his own residence in Nashville and allegedly already seeing someone new.

“Let’s just say Nicole doesn’t dispute that,” one source told TMZ, adding, “but she’s still shocked over it.”

Despite Fisher’s surprise, a source claimed that those closest to Kidman and Urban were already aware of the growing tension between them before the split became public.

Now back home in Nashville after a trip to Europe, Kidman is said to be focusing on what matters most: “her family and her work.”

“She isn’t someone who dwells on regrets — she believes everything happens for a reason,” an insider told People Magazine, adding that the Oscar winner is “keeping it positive” and remains “grateful for her life.”

Kidman appeared to subtly reflect on the emotional toll of her separation in a recent Harper’s Bazaar interview published shortly after news of her divorce became public.

“There’s something to knowing that no matter how painful, or how difficult, or how devastating something is, there is a way through,” she said when asked about the lessons that come with age.

Kidman continued, “You are going to have to feel it, and it’s going to feel insurmountable at times. You’re going to feel like you’re broken, but if you move gently and slowly — and it can take an enormous amount of time — it does pass.”
