Sarah Ferguson’s time at the Royal Lodge is fast coming to an end.

The former Duchess of York and her ex-husband, Prince Andrew, have been given a firm deadline to vacate the royal premises.

As such, Ferguson is now on the hunt for a new place to call home. However, she is not searching far from home, as she reportedly has her eyes set on finding a place in Windsor.

Ferguson and her ex-partner, Andrew, have been given until January 31, 2027, to leave the Windsor residence, which they have called home for decades.

Although she will be leaving the Royal Lodge, she doesn’t intend to stay too far away, as a source revealed, “She’s looking for a place in Windsor,” as confirmed by PEOPLE Magazine.

The 66-year-old author’s move will certainly keep her close to her daughters and other relatives. Staying in Windsor will keep her 45 minutes away from Princess Beatrice, who shuffles between St. James’s Palace and the Cotswolds.

News of Ferguson’s desire to stay in Windsor comes after she was reportedly considering many options for her new home. Her spokesman exclusively told PEOPLE Magazine, “She is assessing a number of options currently, and no final decision has been made.”

Rumors circulating about Ferguson’s move claimed that the former royal member may end up finding herself in an annex or a converted barn in Princess Beatrice’s country home. However, her spokesman debunked the rumors, saying Ferguson was not considering living with her daughter.

Although Ferguson stayed at the Royal Lodge with her former partner, Andrew, she will not be moving into her new home with him. Instead, the two will go their separate ways after living at the royal residence since 2008.

According to The Blast, Ferguson intends to “move forward independently” and find a new place to live without asking for help from anyone.

“Contrary to reports, she has never asked for a property or any provision for herself. She will continue to forge an independent life,” the source added.

Sources also revealed that Andrew will move to Sandringham estate, with the King handling any accommodation logistics that may arise along the way.

Ferguson’s forced move is a result of the directive from King Charles, who ordered that Andrew be stripped of all his royal honors and titles. The decision was taken following lengthy conversations that scrutinized Andrew’s connection to the late felon, Jeffrey Epstein.

After Andrew and his ex lost their royal privileges, the drastic change reportedly left Ferguson in a state of distraught. Per The Blast, she was “shaken to the core” and was anxious about what was to come.

A source noted that her nerves were “frayed,” and another revealed that the former royal member was “massively on edge and panicking about her own future.” More details also revealed that she regrets staying close to Andrew over the years.

In addition to the upheaval Ferguson experienced in her personal life, she also faced significant setbacks in her business.

The author’s new children’s book, “Flora and Fern: Kindness Along the Way,” was set to be released on October 9. However, the release date was pushed to November 20, after which it was abruptly cancelled even before it reached the shelves.

According to The Blast, a source said that the book was not being delayed but was being “pulped” because “no one is going to want to buy it.”

As Ferguson’s world continues to fall apart, Prince Andrew isn’t spared either. His dismissal continues to be in effect as he has now been stripped of his final royal honors.

According to a statement released by the Central Chancery of the Orders of Knighthood, the former Prince has been cut off from the Royal Victorian Order and his name removed from the registers of the Order of the Garter.

The process of stripping Andrew of his titles began weeks ago, and it was reportedly “entirely the King’s decision, per The Blast.

The palace also confirmed that the decision, although harsh, was “deemed necessary.” It was also a long time coming because there had been several discussions over Andrew’s closeness to Epstein, and how it could possibly paint the royal family in a negative light.
