Despite the broadcasted shift in Kody and Robyn Brown‘s romance, former wives Christine and Janelle aren’t worried about the couple.

Season 19 of TLC’s “Sister Wives” series has captured the rift within the Brown family, from Kody’s strained relationship with his ex-wives and some of his children to his rocky marriage to Robyn.

Although Robyn claims she and Kody are experiencing the “worst” time in their marriage, Christine and Janelle Brown believe the pair will bounce back in no time. The former wives shared their two cents in a new interview.

Christine And Janelle Believe Kody & Robyn Brown Are Going Through A Phase

Following episodes of tense arguments between Kody and Robyn, the patriarch’s former wives assured fans that all was well in the couple’s paradise. “I think they’re fine,” Christine declared, with Janelle adding, “I actually feel like that’s probably normal couple relationship dynamics.”

Christine noted the pair were adjusting to their monogamous status after Kody’s plural marriage to four wives ended with three divorces. She was the first to leave in 2021, followed by Janelle in 2022 and Meri Brown in 2023.

“You know that that’s got to be really hard on him. It’s, what, three divorces in two years? So, their relationship will probably have some things they have to figure out,” Christine said in the joint interview with E News, adding:

“Because it changes the dynamic of who you are as a person. But no, I would imagine they’re fine. I bet they’re going to be great together.”

Christine Seemingly Shades Kody While Raving About Her Second Husband

While Christine believed Kody and Robyn would eventually work out their differences, she seemingly threw shade at her ex-husband while gushing about her second husband. She claimed life was better with David Woolley, whom she recently marked her first marriage anniversary with.

“So much fun, so much adventure. I never really understood the term partner,” Christine said about their year together. “I feel like being married to David, I’m more independent than I ever was,” she raved, adding:

“I’ve done more and accomplished more. I’m a better business person. I feel like a better mom. I feel like I’m better at every role than I ever was before. I have a really true partner that’s there all the time.”

Robyn Reflected On Her Strained Marriage To Kody

During the Season 19 premiere of the TLC series in September, The Blast reported that Robyn had addressed her strained relationship with Kody. She confirmed the pair were going through a challenging period, saying:

“We’re probably doing the worst we’ve ever done in our marriage. It’s been tough. It’s been tough between us.”

Kody confirmed the same thing, noting the couple were in a “struggling place.” The cracks in their union allegedly began after Christine, Janelle, and Meri left the polygamous union. Robyn echoed similar concerns, claiming:

“Kody’s feeling a lot of rejection. And so, I think he’s kind of looking at me going, ‘Are you going to reject me too?‘ I’m on my toes. I’m having to consistently make sure that he is not sabotaging our relationship.”

According to Robyn, monogamy was never a part of the picture when she tied the knot to Kody in 2014. She lamented their broken polygamous dynamic, seemingly implying she wanted them back together.

“I miss the family experience, you know, the kids, and I miss the camaraderie that I did have with my sister wives,” Robyn confessed. Despite her love for their plural family, she expressed determination to fix things with Kody.

The love between the couple remained strong amid their challenges, with Kody thanking his only remaining wife for supporting him through three divorces. “I love Robyn, and she’s dear to me, and I respect her dearly. Her telling me I’m still good is valuable to me,” he admitted.

The Blast shared that December 2023’s “Talk Back”special for Season 18 saw Meri addressing Robyn’s behavior with her best friend, Jenn Sullivan. The latter did not understand why Kody’s remaining wife was ticked off by her pal’s decision to divorce their husband.

“You’ve been trying to build a relationship [with Robyn], and every time you try, you’re constantly disappointed,” Jenn told Meri. She noted that Robyn’s desire for the plural family to reunite was “kind of selfish,” adding:

“Even though she wanted it, there was nothing for you. So, I’m really struggling with that. She’s entitled to her feelings, but I just struggle with she’s upset that you’re doing something good for you.“

Will the strained dynamic in the Brown family ever be resolved?
