On Friday, February 27, Rose shared a picture of herself and her son, Brooks, on her Instagram Stories. Rose, 39, captioned the flick, “Soccer weekend with Brooks feels especially meaningful today, as we remember the fragility of life.”

For those unfamiliar, Mary confirmed earlier this week that her son, Robert, had “been called home to the Lord” after an intense battle with addiction.

Reports reveal Salt Lake City police officers responded to a call of a potential overdose and later found the 23-year-old dead upon arrival.

“In memory of Robert Jr., with so much love for your family—Mary Cosby. We’re here for you,” Rose continued.

Robert Cosby Previously Told His Mother That He Was Using Hard Drugs For A Specific Reason

Robert’s death hit Bravo viewers hard, considering the young adult bravely spoke with his mother, Mary, about his struggles during a season 5 episode of “RHOSLC.” During their conversation, both Robert and Mary broke down in tears when he admitted he was using drugs such as “Xanax” to help add “seasoning to [my life].”

After some time, though, the drugs Robert began using intensified.

“Then, I started doing Xanax with Acid, and then Molly with Xanax,” he told Mary. “I really like Xanax, so I mix it with everything. Xanax and cocaine. You know the regular 30mg Oxys? I noticed … this was, like, a turning point for me. I was taking 10 at once, and I couldn’t even feel it,” he said.

Mary Cosby’s Son Was Released From Jail Shortly Before His Death After Reportedly Violating A Protective Order

Robert’s death comes weeks after he was released from a Utah jail after reportedly violating a protective order between him and his ex-wife. During the “RHOSLC” season 6 reunion, Mary discussed Robert’s legal troubles, explaining that his run-in with the law stemmed from his unwillingness to listen.

“He went back anyway thinking that she wants him to come back and save her. I don’t know where he’s getting that from, delusional,” Mary said. “Every time he’d go back over there, they’d call the police and they’d arrest him.”

According to Page Six, Robert was taken into custody in November 2025 after allegedly getting into an altercation with his ex-wife’s father and a Salt Lake City police officer.

Robert’s lawyer, Clayton Simms, previously described his time in jail as a “blessing,” revealing it had given Robert a chance to “sober up.”

“He’s looking forward to doing positive things. The difficulty is that he was slow to recognize the dissolution of his marriage. But now he understands the relationship is over, and he’s moving forward,” Simms added.

According to TMZ, Robert’s release from jail came with strict conditions, including requiring him to wear an ankle monitoring device.

After reportedly being charged with assault, criminal trespassing, and violation of a jail release court order, Robert received 24 months of probation.

His probation release came with standard requirements, meaning Robert was ordered to stay out of legal trouble, report to a probation officer, and enroll in some sort of substance abuse, mental health, and anger management program.

Additionally, Robert was ordered not to use, consume, or possess alcohol or illegal drugs.

Andy Cohen called the news “devastatingly sad,” while Dolores Catania said she was “heartbroken” for Mary and her family.

“Real Housewives of Potomac” star Wendy Osefo also sent support to the Salt Lake City TV personality, writing, “We are all here for you.”

Mia Thornton added, “Words will never describe the pain I have in my heart for you. I can’t imagine. Lord, please cover our babies, our families, and our hearts. Praying for you, sister.”
