Sports doctor shares worrisome take on Malik Nabers injury

The New York Giants may not have their young superstar on the field to start the John Harbaugh era.

The new Giants head coach already made it sound like Malik Nabers is set to miss most of OTAs and the offseason workouts.

However, that may not be enough to get him back on the field. Per renowned sports doctor Jesse Morse, Nabers might not be able to suit up for the first month of the season.

Following Harbaugh’s update on Nabers’ situation, and given his knowledge of the injury and previous cases, Morse predicted Nabers would miss at least half of the season.

Malik Nabers will likely miss half of the 2026 NFL season

“Giants HC Harbaugh admitted that they don’t know when Malik Nabers will be returning from his ‘complicated’ knee surgery,” Morse shared on X. “I’m expecting him to start on the PUP list and make his debut somewhere in the middle of the 2026 season.”

The LSU product missed most of his second year in the league after suffering a season-ending ACL injury in Week 4.

When healthy, Nabers showed the potential to be one of the best pass catchers in the game. He took the league by storm with 109 catches for 1,204 yards and seven scores as a rookie, per Football Reference.

Knee injuries are delicate and tend to linger, and the Giants need to take a big-picture approach with their young star, even if that means having him in street clothes for the start of the season.

In the meantime, Jaxson Dart will have to turn to Darius Slayton and Darnell Mooney.
