The Los Angeles Lakers continue to beef up their frontcourt, this time by adding a three-time NBA champion.
The Lakers are signing Kevon Looney to a one-year, $3.9 million deal, according to Shams Charania of ESPN. Looney will slot in as the team’s backup center.
In many ways, Looney is an outstanding fit for the Lakers. Not only does he have ample experience and lots of victories to his name, but he was a key pick and roll weapon for the Golden State Warriors.
Considering one of Luka Doncic’s top requests of the team was to get him centers he could work off of, this signing should make him very happy.
