Tina Knowles is standing strong in support of her daughter, Beyoncé, following criticism of the pop icon’s highly anticipated NFL Halftime Show performance on Christmas Day.

The Houston-born superstar delivered an electrifying show featuring songs from her latest album, “Cowboy Carter,” a genre-blending country-infused project that dominated the Billboard 200 for two consecutive weeks. The setlist highlighted standout tracks like “16 Carriages,” “Texas Hold ‘Em,” “Levii’s Jeans,” and a reimagined version of “Jolene.”

Beyoncé’s performance wasn’t just about her powerful vocals and signature stage presence; it also brought together a talented lineup of collaborators, including Shaboozey, Post Malone, Tanner Adell, and Brittney Spencer.

Adding to the magic of the show, Beyoncé’s 12-year-old daughter, Blue Ivy Carter, made a special appearance as a dancer, marking yet another memorable moment after previously performing alongside her mother during the Renaissance World Tour.

Just moments after Beyoncé’s halftime show ended, social media flooded with opinions, with many blasting the “Texas Hold ‘Em” artist.

“Ummm… flags tucked into belt loops, upside down, touching the ground,” one X user argued. “Horrible covers of amazing songs, a few signals. Far from a great performance.”

Another person said, “No, really, it was not Christmasy at all and thought it was never gonna end. What was that?”

“Terrible… Really a slap to country music. Not good in my opinion,” a third expressed.

NFL Fans Find Hypocrisy Within Hand Gesture Beyoncé Made On Stage

The show concluded with the “Single Ladies” hitmaker dramatically elevated on a scaffold above the field, striking a finger-gun gesture as a “Bang” banner unfurled behind her, according to The Express on Thursday.

In response to ongoing discussions about such displays, NFL executive Troy Vincent reinforced the league’s strict stance on these gestures during an October meeting, emphasizing their prohibition on the field. At the time, he said, “There’s no place in professional football for that. Think about where we are as a society. … I don’t think that’s where we are and what we’re trying to represent.”

After seeing the gesture, fans took to social media to ask “Where is the flag on Beyoncé for the finger guns?!?!” and “Is the @NFL going to fine @Beyonce for finger guns?!”

On Friday, December 27, Tina Knowles addressed the criticism surrounding Beyoncé’s captivating halftime performance during the Baltimore Ravens vs. Houston Texans game at NRG Stadium. The 12-minute set, now streaming on Netflix, sparked some backlash, leading the proud mother to take to social media and defend her daughter’s artistry.

Knowles kicked off her response by sharing a fan’s message on Instagram, which directly addressed and criticized those who had negative remarks about Beyoncé’s performance.

“Irrespective of whether you like Beyoncé’s music or not, it is PROOF and motivation that no matter how undeniably talented you are, people will always, ALWAYS, always have some negative ish to say,” the comment read.

Tina Knowles responded, “My sentiments exactly! It is mind-boggling to me that you would take your precious Christmas day and watch a performance of someone you hate and you don’t think has talent so that you can go talk ish about it later.”

The pop star’s mom added, “Obviously you are so obsessed with them, addicted to them, and secretly admire them, wish you could be them, that you cannot help but to watch and critique and comment and say dumb ridiculous stuff that makes you look like a joke!! So go to another channel when it’s halftime watch goofy cartoons or Bozo the clown or something you can relate to and see yourself in. Said with love.”

Knowles also praised her daughter’s resilience, stating, “I have learned so much from her warrior spirit, of when they go low I work harder ‘No weapon formed against me shall prosper’ one, two, three waiting for the fake bots to come.’”

Beyoncé’s halftime show is currently streaming on Netflix.
