Trump and Musk: ‘Lamps are going out’

Re: “As Trump and Musk tear through democracy, we can’t just stand by” (Feb. 7, Editorials)

The inauguration of the President Donald Trump/Elon Musk regime reminds me of that saying by British Foreign Secretary Sir Edward Grey on Britain’s declaration of war in World War I. He said, “The lamps are going out all over Europe; we shall not see them lit again in our lifetime.”

The illegal actions by Trump and Musk have doused many lamps in our country, which shall not be relit for a generation.

    Mark Erickson, Issaquah
