After three separate fights in the first ten seconds of USA vs. Canada in the Four Nations Face-Off, the Americans led by Jake Guentzel beat the Canadians 3-1 to secure a spot in the event’s championship game. Guentzel now has three goals and an assist through two games, and head coach Mike Sullivan said he’s not surprised at the production.
“Jake is a high-stakes player. He plays his very best when it means the most and I don’t think there’s a stage big enough for him,” Sullivan said,
“He thrives in these types of environments.”
