    Re: “Friends, family and colleagues honor state’s political bulldog” (June 2, A1):

    Thank you for the article on the memorial for former speaker of the state House Frank Chopp.

    Having worked with Frank, he could be counted on to support many great initiatives. You just needed to be prepared when meeting with him what clearly was your “ask” as you would be surprised you could get what you asked.

    We need more bulldog replacements, as us old dogs bite the dust.
