At almost 37 years old, Kevin Love is no longer a high-impact player on an NBA court. But that doesn’t mean he doesn’t still have a role to play. This time – as he put it – was as a “math problem,” as he was included in a three team deal that sent Normal Powell to the Miami Heat, John Collins to the Los Angeles Clippers and Kevin Love and Kyle Anderson to the Utah Jazz.
Heading into his 18th NBA season, Love is expected to agree to a buyout with the Jazz and sign elsewhere as a free agent. While he hasn’t averaged more than 20 minutes-per-fame since 2022-23 or double-figure points since 2021-22, he’ll bring a wealth of playoff and championship experience and a strong example of how to be a professional for whoever he eventually signs with.
