Sofía Vergara Breaks Silence On ‘Round 2’ Of Surgery

Sofía Vergara is not letting a bad knee stop her for the second time!

The actress was back on the operating table for a second time to have work done on her knee, which she had previously fixed sometime last year.

Sofía Vergara has earlier shared her plans to undergo a different kind of surgery, this time to help her curb the speed of aging and fix some physical imperfections.

The television personality updated her 35.6 million fans on what she has been up to in her personal life, especially regarding her health. She posted a picture of herself on a hospital bed, dressed in the clinic outfit and wearing a very warm smile.

Vergara’s second slide featured a close-up view of her carefully braced legs with a Band-Aid attached to her knee, an indication that an open wound lies there or an incision has been made.

“It’s done! Round 2 #knee,” with loads of emojis. Vergara’s post was received with lots of warmth and love in the comments. Some commenters wondered just how she managed to remain so radiant and beautiful despite having just come out of surgery.

As shared by The Daily Mail, the actress went in for the surgery for the first time last year, where she showed up in a sexy number for the post-surgery reveal. She thanked her then-partner, Dr. Justin Saliman, for providing her with emotional and professional support.

The actress and Saliman, who created the Novo Stitch Pro Meniscal Repair system, have since parted ways.

Last year, the star shared her perspective on plastic surgery during an interview with Allure, alongside her plans to undergo some body enhancements.

As shared by PEOPLE, she urged those with interests to take advantage of the numerous procedures available and do what they preferred if they “care about aging.”  While she has plans to go for one or more procedures in the future, the actress noted that her hectic schedule keeps getting in the way.

“I feel like I’m going to do every plastic surgery that I can do when I’m ready,” she said. “I wish I had more downtime; I would’ve done stuff already,” she said, noting that it would be impractical to sit in her house and recover while the tapes rolled on set.

However, Vergara has not defaulted on her Botox routine for years now, especially to keep her neck and eyes wrinkle-free. The actress also openly admitted that she will never naturally accept the aging process.

Vergara explained that while she believes that aging is inevitable, she will never be the type to step out flaunting her “all-white hair.”

The Colombian actress has built a legacy for herself as one of the most memorable faces on television, and with all that comes the pressing need to take some time off. 

While some of her colleagues may see stepping away to cool off as a potential career suicide, Vergara is approaching rest differently. “I think I have worked hard enough my whole life that I am finally beginning to let myself enjoy my vacations and say I’m taking time off,” Vergara declared.

Vergara’s career began when she was discovered by a photographer at the beach, and from there, she went on to star in a Pepsi commercial for Latin American markets. 

By 2009, she landed a role in ABC’s “Modern Family,” which introduced her to a broader audience after she transitioned from Spanish roles to the English side of entertainment. In 2020, Vergara was announced as the highest-paid television actress in the world with a net worth of $43 million.

Vergara hopped on a getaway flight in the middle of July to spend her 53rd birthday by the gorgeous beaches of Sardinia. The getaway comes after swirling reports of a romance with the former NFL star, Tom Brady, but she got more tongues wagging with another bombshell on her roster.

She treated her fans to several images from her swell time in the beautiful city, including a selfie with 39-year-old Doug Chabbott. The now-deleted picture from her story featured the duo serving face in matching black numbers- Vergara reposted this content from his story.

Vergara and Chabbott did not stop at just pictures; they reportedly got hot and heavy with PDA as they toured across the European city, sharing kisses and embraces along the way.

The mother-of-one has stayed tight-lipped about her current romantic status, leaving fans to wonder what could happen between them.
