    Track Hurricane Helene’s path, status and forecast

    Helene made landfall in Florida’s Large Bend area late Thursday night time after it strengthened to a Class 4 hurricane earlier within the day.

    Forecasters with the Nationwide Hurricane Middle said the attention of the storm made landfall about 10 miles west-southwest of Perry, Florida, about 11:10 p.m. ET with most sustained winds of 140 mph.

    The storm weakened to a Class 1 because it moved inland throughout Georgia however the specter of life-threatening storm surge, winds and heavy rain continued, the hurricane middle stated in a 2 a.m. Friday replace.

    Forecasters warned Helene might have a wind swath greater than 400 miles vast and will deliver “unsurvivable” storm surge.

    Flooding is a priority in North Carolina, Georgia and South Carolina.
