When Matthew Stafford and the Los Angeles Rams take the field against the Houston Texans on Sunday, Stafford will be making his 17th Week 1 start in a row, but it was far from a sure thing. Stafford missed a good chunk of the preseason while sorting out a back issue, but head coach Sean McVay said the former top overall draft pick will be under center.
If he’s healthy, Stafford and the Rams could be very scary offensively. Wide receiver Puka Nacua is also healthy to start his third NFL campaign and Los Angeles brought in veteran Davante Adams to replace Cooper Kupp. Meanwhile, running back Kyren Williams is coming off of back-to-back 1,000-rushing yard seasons with 26 TDs over that time.
