Lincoln Riley addresses rumors about his future with USC

Lincoln Riley is aiming to have his best season at USC since he was hired by the school in 2022, but rumors have been swirling that he and the Trojans could part ways after the season. The coach offered a blunt response to that talk following his latest victory.

USC beat Northwestern 38-17 on Friday night to improve to 7-2 on the season. After the game, Riley was asked about the speculation that he might explore opportunities outside of Los Angeles when the season ends. He dismissed the idea.

Though Riley did not explicitly say he will return to USC in 2026.

“I’ve been underwater for the last five days, I feel like. You guys know what I sacrificed to come here,” Riley said. “I’m where I need to be.”
