Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs’ Prison Release Date Pushed Back Amid Violations

Sean “Diddy” Combs has to deal with more bad news after the disgraced rapper has allegedly rubbed some prison officials at FCI Fort Dix in New Jersey the wrong way.

The “Finna Get Loose” rapper was transferred to the prison in the Garden State in late October 2025, and since then, he’s reportedly violated several prison rules.

To make matters worse, Sean “Diddy” Combs’ prison release date has officially been pushed back an extra month, meaning the father of seven won’t be a free man until the summer of 2028.

According to Page Six, Diddy’s prison release date has been pushed back by one month and is now scheduled for June 4, 2028.

It’s unclear exactly why the “Making The Band” star’s release date has been adjusted; however, the news comes days after his alleged misbehavior behind bars became a worldwide trending topic.

The Blast first reported on Diddy’s alleged misconduct, which involved the rapper being in hot water with prison officials after allegedly being found with homemade alcohol.

Sources close to the situation claimed the drink was made from Fanta soda, sugar, and apples that inmates let ferment for several weeks.

The news of Diddy’s alleged run-in with Fort Dix guards was particularly noteworthy to members of the public, considering he shared an emotional letter with Judge Arun Subramanian during his sentencing in New York City in early October, claiming he was pursuing a sober lifestyle after losing his way with “drugs and the excess.”

A member of Diddy’s team fiercely denied the allegations against him on X, formerly Twitter, explaining that the rapper was spending his time behind bars “becoming the best version of himself and returning to his family.”

His personal representative, Juda Engelmayer, also issued a statement defending Diddy while slamming the “exaggerated” stories about the rapper’s day-to-day.

“Mr. Combs is in his first week at FCI Fort Dix and is focused on adjusting, working on himself, and doing better each day. As with any high-profile individual in a new environment, there will be many rumors and exaggerated stories throughout his time there—most of them untrue. We ask that people give him the benefit of the doubt, the privacy to focus on his personal growth with grace and purpose,” Engelmayer said.

And Diddy’s reported infractions don’t end there, according to The Blast.

Prison documents detail that the rapper made an unauthorized three-way call in early November 2025 to reportedly speak to his legal team about issuing a statement to bloggers and other news publications.

While Diddy was reportedly reprimanded for breaking prison rules, the rapper is said to have defended himself, admitting he was unaware of the facility’s phone-call rules.

Prison officials suggested the “Hello, Good Morning” performer lose three months of phone privileges and three months of commissary privileges for the violation, with a source saying Diddy’s offense “shows a disregard for the rules.”

Engelmayer clearly disagrees with the prison’s outlook on the matter, though, saying, “It was a procedural call initiated by one of his attorneys and was protected under attorney client privilege. There was nothing improper.”

Multi-user calls are not allowed at FCI Fort Dix due to concerns that inmates could use them to coordinate criminal activity, including drug smuggling and witness intimidation.

The Rapper Was Moved To Focus On ‘Drug Abuse’

Diddy’s reported rough couple of weeks at FCI Fort Dix comes just after he was moved to the low-security prison in late October.

After being sentenced to 50 months behind bars, Diddy’s legal team requested that he be moved to a different location where he could appropriately address “drug abuse issues” and make the most of his “family visitation and rehabilitative efforts.”

Another important reason Diddy’s legal team requested that he be transferred to a different prison to serve his lengthy sentence is that he was reportedly within inches of a life-ending threat while incarcerated at MDC Brooklyn.

The father of seven and “Bad Boy” records founder was reportedly woken by another inmate, who held a shank to his neck, according to his best friend, Charlucci Finney.

Finney explained that the invader was so close to Diddy that if he wanted to harm the rapper, he could have. He also shared his belief that the intruder could’ve been trying to send a warning to his friend.

“Everything is intimidation. But with Sean, it won’t work. Sean is from Harlem,” he said.
