Gisele Bündchen Marries Jiu-Jitsu Instructor Boyfriend In Miami Ceremony

The couple, who share a baby boy, reportedly obtained a marriage license on December 1 and exchanged vows two days later.

Gisele Bündchen, previously married to Tom Brady, has spoken openly about co-parenting and life after divorce, emphasizing the importance of balance and privacy.

According to TMZ,  a source close to Bündchen and Valente revealed that their wedding took place earlier this month in Miami, Florida, with only close family and friends in attendance.

Public records show the pair obtained a marriage license on December 1 and exchanged vows two days later, on December 3.

Although the couple didn’t announce the wedding publicly or share photos online, those in their inner circle were aware of the plans.

The newlyweds also share a child together, with Bündchen welcoming a baby boy, her third child. Her marriage to Valente marks the supermodel’s second marital union.

She was previously married to former NFL quarterback Tom Brady, with whom she shares two children, Benjamin and Vivian. While Brady and the children were informed about the pregnancy, it’s unclear whether he knew about the wedding ahead of time.

Bündchen and Valente first sparked romance rumors in November 2022, shortly after Bündchen’s divorce from Brady was finalized. Their connection became public following a family getaway to Costa Rica.

Initially, Bündchen downplayed any romantic involvement with the jiu-jitsu instructor, but over time, their friendship evolved into a romantic relationship.

By February 2024, a source confirmed to People Magazine that the pair had grown closer.

“They started out as great friends first,” the source. “She’s very private about this and wanted to keep it quiet while they got to know each other.”

An insider told People that Valente “was a huge comfort” for Bündchen during her divorce from Brady, which was filed on October 28, 2022, after 13 years of marriage.

“Joaquim is a great guy,” the source said at the time. “He is down-to-earth, kind, and inspiring. Gisele was hesitant about dating after the divorce.”

“It’s been very natural for her to date Joaquim,” they added.

Bündchen and Valente have not shied away from flaunting their love and have been spotted on multiple recreational outings as a couple.

After her private wedding, Bündchen returned to her native Brazil to attend a Vivara jewelry event in São Paulo on Thursday.

She opted for a long-sleeved dress that fully covered her left hand, keeping any possible wedding ring out of view.

In March 2023, Bündchen publicly spoke about her connection with Valente in a Vanity Fair interview, referring to it as a “friendship.”

She was also subject to speculation suggesting that their relationship began before her divorce from Brady, which she strongly denied during an interview with the New York Times.

“This is something that happens to a lot of women who get blamed when they have the courage to leave an unhealthy relationship and are labeled as being unfaithful,” she said. “They have to deal with their communities. They have to deal with their family. Of course, for me, it just happens to be a little bit amplified.”
