Raiders zero in on NFC West assistant for offensive coordinator role

The Las Vegas Raiders under new head coach Klint Kubiak have begun to revamp their offense, and their first reported interview for their vacant offensive coordinator position is making waves in the NFC West. While there have been a lot of rumors as to who Kubiak may bring on, the first name to interview surprised many people.

According to Brady Henderson of ESPN, Kubiak intends on interviewing Seattle Seahawks wide receivers coach Frisman Jackson. After replacing Ryan Grubb as offensive coordinator in Seattle, Kubiak kept Jackson on staff.

Seahawks WRs coach Frisman Jackson will interview for the Raiders’ OC job, a source tells me (@TomPelissero first). Jackson joined Mike Macdonald’s first Seattle staff in 2024. Klint Kubiak kept him when he replaced Ryan Grubb as OC and was highly complimentary of the job he did.

    An Offense Searching for Answers

Jackson comes from Seattle’s offense, which played significantly better than they did last year. Many first-year head coaches tend to make hires they have worked alongside in the past, so it should be a major surprise that Jackson is a candidate for the job. Bringing in someone who already knows how Kubiak’s style of offense works would make things much easier in Las Vegas right away.

The Raiders a lot of work to do on offense. Geno Smith and company did not accomplish too much in 2025. As far as scoring goes, they were at the bottom of the league. The quarterback situation is still up in the air, and the offensive line still has a lot of gaps to fill. Before they begin making big splashes in free agency or locking in draft plans, they need to find the right person for this position.

So, what will Kubiak do? Does the familiar face from Seattle get the job, or is this the beginning of many interviews for the vacant role?

    A Defining Choice for Kubiak

Either way, this is the first real clue about where Kubiak wants to take this offense. He seemingly likes the idea of bringing on someone he has worked with before. If he gets it right and makes a solid hire, Las Vegas’ offense could see a big turnaround in 2026. But if he gets it wrong, this could set an impatient Raiders organization back for years to come.
