    Alabama teammate criticizes narrative around WR Ryan Williams

    Alabama Crimson Tide wide receiver Ryan Williams is one of the most dynamic players in college football. In fact, outside of Ohio State’s Jeremiah Smith, he may be the best wide receiver in college football.

    That’s what made the narratives around Williams so strange after the first two weeks of the college football season.

    Alabama, as a whole, struggled in the Week 1 loss to Florida State, but Williams was notably and uncharacteristically shaky. He ultimately had to leave the game with a concussion, but Williams caught just 5-of-11 targets against FSU for 30 yards with three drops.

    Again, it was uncharacteristic.

    The sophomore from Mobile, Alabama, took Week 2 off but then got back into action in the Crimson Tide’s dominant 38-14 win over Wisconsin in Week 3.

    Williams again looked like the player we knew him to be as a freshman. He caught five passes for 165 yards and two touchdowns. One of those touchdowns looked like this:
