Andy Cohen Admits To Using GLP-1 For Epic 25lb Weight Loss

The tables were turned on Andy Cohen during his own radio show, as the host, who is famous for grilling celebrities, was recently placed in the hot seat to answer questions about his own epic body transformation.

On “Radio Andy,” the “Real Housewives” executive producer, known for asking invasive questions to reality stars on his talk show, admitted to his co-host that he’d been “microdosing” a GLP-1, a glucagon-like peptide-1 known to regulate appetite, to help him reach his fitness goals.

Cohen, a father of two, explained that he felt compelled to be open about his journey with the drug for one specific reason: to avoid hypocrisy.

“Given that for 20 years I have been asking people about their body regimens and that I’ve been pretty vocal about every time I go on a diet … I do think it would be completely hypocritical not to share that I did this summer lose a good chunk of weight by micro-dosing a GLP-1 all summer,” he said.

Cohen, 57, explained that his desire to change the way his body looked is what motivated him to give the GLP-1 shot a try. “I was really unhappy with my weight,” he said.

However, he said there were other health factors, such as “plaque” in his arteries and “high blood pressure,” that also motivated him.

Cohen shared that since using the GLP-1, he’s seen a drastic change in his lifestyle and in his relationship with food. “It really helped me with cravings, which I was having a very hard time with, and really forcing myself to be more disciplined with my diet and with working out. I am on a pretty rigorous health journey,” he said.

Now, Cohen has incorporated more heavy lifting into his schedule, and he’s stopping the “snacking [and] excess drinking.”

“I am still drinking, but not crazy and perhaps the most importantly, I’m not snacking after the craving [I get] after I drink,” he added.

As he went on, Cohen explained that his time behind the scenes of “Watch What Happens Live” used to be filled with alcoholic drinks and snacks, such as cookies and pasta.

With the GLP-1, however, Cohen said his “cravings for all that stuff dissipated.”

While there is significant public discourse regarding GLP-1 medications, Cohen said he feels “great about this decision,” stating he’s “privileged to have access” to what he called a “revolutionary drug.”

When his “Radio Andy” co-host pressed him on the timing of his announcement, Cohen explained that being transparent was always part of his plan. “I feel so strongly that I can’t be the one asking all the personal questions of, specifically, the Housewives. ‘How did you do it? What did you do to your face? How did you do the weight loss?’ And then be the guy who’s suddenly lost 25 lbs. but isn’t mentioning it,” he said.

When Ozempic, Wegovy, Mounjaro, and other similar weight-loss drugs became mainstream in 2022 and 2023, many “Real Housewives” stars, including Dolores Catania, spoke openly about their experience.
