Ben Affleck Has Reportedly Acquired A ‘Massively Private’ Home

Ben Affleck reportedly plans to move into a new mansion that will afford him some privacy after the Los Angeles wildfires.

The actor’s Brentwood community witnessed heightened security and military activities amid the fires that ravaged most parts of southern California.

Meanwhile, Ben Affleck’s Beverly Hills mansion, which he once shared with his ex-wife, Jennifer Lopez, is still on the market.

According to TMZ, insiders say Affleck is planning to leave his current 20.5 million Brentwood home for a “super high-end” and “massively private” home.

Reports suggest that Affleck had taken a liking to the property for a while now and seemingly bought it last year.

However, the “Accountant 2” actor would have to exercise patience as the property remains under construction.

Affleck’s soon-to-be home is described as a “Fortress of Solitude,” suggesting that he would enjoy more privacy and peace there than in his current home, where paparazzi constantly snap him.

The Actor’s Neighborhood Saw Increased Military Activities

It comes after Affleck’s Brentwood neighborhood saw increased military presence during the wake of the devastating L.A. fires.

During that period, the actor had an FBI agent and an L.A. County sheriff officer knock on his gate.

At one point, a sand-colored military Humvee, equipped with a turret for mounting heavy artillery, was seen parked near his home, even as a uniformed military officer stood beside the vehicle. However, there was no interaction between the actor and the military personnel.

Despite the heightened security in his community, the “Gone Girl” star had nothing to worry about. His home was located near the edge of the evacuation zone, leading to the presence of military personnel and law enforcement agents.

Meanwhile, Affleck’s marital home with Jennifer Lopez continues to sit on the market with a hefty $68 million price tag.

Before Lopez filed for divorce last August, the former couple was already living apart, with Affleck moving into a $100k-per-month rental home.

At the time, Affleck and Lopez’s marriage was plagued by rumors of marital issues, which were later confirmed true.

The “Maid In Manhattan” star seemingly couldn’t keep her distance from her ex as she was seen looking up properties to buy in Affleck’s Brentwood neighborhood.

Lopez was spotted visiting luxurious mansions with extensive gardens in the Brentwood area this past weekend.

In October, famous real estate broker and the star of “Selling Sunset,” Jason Oppenheim, shared that Affleck and Lopez shouldn’t be worried by the amount of time it has taken to sell their mansion, noting that such massive properties tend to spend at least six months on the marker.

While speaking to Realtor.com, he shared, “It would have been surprising for the house to sell in less than 100 days,” adding that “most homes of this magnitude are on the market for six months, and in many cases significantly longer.”

The outlet listed several factors causing the sale of the mansion to be delayed, noting that the expenses associated with the sale would reduce the pool of potential buyers. They also said that people who can afford such costly purchases tend to delay in hopes of a price reduction.

Another significant factor is the estimated $283,666 the homeowner would likely spend each month on taxes, security, and homeowners association dues.

Lopez and Affleck’s home is also competing with other luxurious properties in Los Angeles, making it more difficult to sell.

Lopez and Affleck finally settled their divorce five months after the singer filed to dissolve their marriage in August.

She filed a settlement document in the Los Angeles Superior Court that showed who gets what after the split. The document was signed on September 25, 2024, but it wasn’t filed until December 31, 2024. It will become official on February 20, 2025.

The exes didn’t sign a prenuptial agreement during their marriage, so they settled through mediation with Hollywood divorce lawyer Laura Wasser.

According to TMZ, they would each get what they purchased during their marriage, as neither of them is ready to slug it out over money. Also, neither will pay spousal support to the other; however, details about other financial matters have been kept private.
