The Buffalo Bills confirmed Tuesday that star linebacker Vonn Miller has been suspended four games without pay for “violating the NFL’s Personal Conduct Policy.”
Miller will be eligible to return Oct. 28 after the team’s Week 8 game against the Seattle Seahawks.
Neither the team nor the NFL revealed the specific incident that resulted in Miller’s suspension.
In November 2023, he turned himself into authorities “on an arrest warrant for a charge of third-degree felony assault of a pregnant woman,” according to ESPN’s Alaina Getzenberg. At the time, the league declined to place him on paid leave, per Pro Football Talk’s Mike Florio.
Miller denied the allegations. The alleged victim eventually recanted in November, and it is not clear if she ever cooperated with the league’s investigation. Florio notes that the NFL “isn’t bound by the ‘beyond a reasonable doubt’ standard” and “can choose to believe the alleged victim’s original story.”
Miller recorded three sacks in Buffalo’s first four games of the season but did not log any stats in Sunday’s 35-10 loss to Baltimore.
