Britney Spears Calls Marriage To Sam Asghari A ‘Fake Distraction’

Britney Spears has opened up about the “hardest years” of her life in a candid post on social media.

The singer revealed that she suffered terribly from being cut off from her sons, Jayden James and Sean Preston, whom she shares with her second husband, Kevin Federline.

She also confessed that her marriage to Sam Asghari, her third husbandfelt like a “fake distraction” to cope with her estrangement from her kids. Britney Spears and the Iranian-born actor tied the knot in 2022, but split two years later.

Taking to social media, Spears spoke candidly about the “hardest years” of her life, referencing the three years she was separated from her children, Jayden James and Sean Preston.

According to reports, the singer reconciled with her kids, whom she shares with her ex-husband Kevin Federline, in 2024.

The children had previously moved to Hawaii in 2023 to stay with their father amid their strained relationship with Spears, which became public in 2022.

Spears, in her post, claimed that during those years that the relationship was strained, she was “cut off from calling or texting” her kids.

To deal with the emotional toll of the separation, the singer revealed that she resorted to “denial” and “a lot of tears.”

It was also during this period that the singer tied the knot with Sam Asghari, the bodybuilder she had been dating for a while.

But for her, the marriage “almost felt like a fake distraction” to help her cope with the separation from her sons.

Elsewhere in her post, Spears shared she was still in her healing process, and admitted that food has been a great deal of help all this time.

“I know I’m healing bc im hungry again like a child or baby… I’m so hungry it hurts, and when I eat, it’s like it’s my first time ever eating in my life,” she wrote.

The singer added, “I believe, although I loved my home, there is waaay too much abuse and trauma in there…. Today I thank Jesus for food, it feels like telling others NO… Owning my body… and letting them REALLY know where I’m from…”

Spears further spoke about her intimate experience with food, before ending the post with gratitude to her fans.

“My soul has never experienced food like this a day in my life… so silly and embarrassing, I’m going to eat cookies and cream ice cream now…god bless u all,” she concluded, per the Daily Mail.

As part of the post, the singer also shared a nude snap that flaunted her curves but didn’t reveal her private parts.

The risqué image is one of the many Spears has shared in recent months, including one where her butt was on full display.

Although the butt-showing post is still up, the singer has since apologized for sharing it on social media.

“I’m unknown, I’m a struggling artist who tries to find the best way to calculate emotions and heart VS common sense and intelligence … it’s unbelievably hard … self love and confidence is something I’m seeking … I apologize to anyone by showing my -ss,” she wrote.

Spears also explained what inspired the post, saying, “sometimes u have to embarrass yourself to remember who u are.”
