Pop star Britney Spears has created another wave of concern after deleting her Instagram account on Sunday night. At this time, it is unclear why she decided to remove her account, although she has done this in the past. Sometimes her account has disappeared for a few days, but she usually does reactivate her account whenever she has something to say.

Fans who tried to head to Britney Spears’ Instagram page on Sunday night were treated to a page that said, “Sorry, this page isn’t available. The link you followed may be broken, or the page may have been removed. Go back to Instagram.” It’s the default response whenever a user takes down their page and provides no indication as to when Britney will restore her account.

It might just be a few hours, or a few days, but her account is still active on X, the social media platform formerly known as Twitter. Her last post slammed her ex-husband, Kevin Federline, amid the release of his new memoir, “You Thought You Knew.”

After PEOPLE magazine published an article about her deleting her social media account, many took to the comments section in order to share their sympathies for the pop star, who is clearly going through a troubled time.

“This is terribly sad. Her parents deserve a lot of the blame here, in my opinion. They shoved her into show business too young, and they, her management and record label, pushed her into a hypersexualized image,” one fan commented. “She had virtually no education or experience outside of show business. I hope there’s a responsible person in her life who’s watching out for her, and can guide her to a place of peace and a reunion with her sons.”

Many fans expressed their agreement, with another writing, “She is surrounded by people who want her money. I don’t think she has one responsible person looking out for her.”

Britney Spears’ Sons Have Gone Back To Maui

As the outlet reported, the “Toxic” singer revealed that her sons, Jayden James, 19, and Sean Preston, 20, had gone back to live with their father in Maui after visiting her in California. Jayden had made an appearance in several of her Instagram videos over the past few months as she praised his skills on the piano.

“My boys had to leave and go back to Maui,” she wrote in the deleted post. In his memoir, Federline called out her behavior as a parent and even once claimed that she used to watch the boys sleeping with a knife in her hand.

In his memoir, Kevin Federline claimed that the knife incident happened more than once in an excerpt shared by The New York Times.

“They would awaken sometimes at night to find her standing silently in the doorway, watching them sleep — ’Oh, you’re awake?’ — with a knife in her hand,” Federline wrote. “Then she’d turn around and pad off without explanation.”

This is not the first time that Britney’s relationship with her son has made headlines, as Jayden previously spoke to The Daily Mail in 2022 to lament the state of his relationship with his mother.

In 2022, Jayden said that he “100 percent” thought that their relationship could be “fixed” but noted that it would “take a lot of time and effort.” He expressed his hope that she would get better “mentally” and said that “I really want to see her again” when she “gets better.”

Jayden also said that his brother had asked Spears “not to post his photos [to social media], and she did it anyway. So it didn’t go well,” leading to some of the tension between them.

Britney herself later reacted to the interview on Instagram, saying, “It saddens me to hear that my ex-husband has decided to discuss the relationship between me and my children… As we all know, raising teenage boys is never easy for anyone. It concerns me that the reason is based on my Instagram. It was LONG before Instagram… I gave them everything… Only one word: HURTFUL.”

It remains to be seen if and when Britney will return to Instagram, but fans are offering her their thoughts and prayers regardless.
