It might be over for Bryce Underwood at Michigan.
On Saturday, the former five-star high-school prospect continued a disastrous 2026 in Michigan’s 20-14 loss at the Minnesota Golden Gophers, dropping the Wolverines to 0-2 in Big Ten play.
Underwood completed less than half of his pass attempts, finishing an alarming 10-of-21 for 101 yards and two interceptions. He also lost 25 yards on three sacks while adding 45 yards on seven carries, giving him an average of a paltry 3.9 yards per dropback.
For one of the most hyped recruits of the 2025 class, Underwood’s college start has been nothing short of a disappointment. And he’s may be out of time to get on track.
Bryce Underwood’s Minnesota crash out should force Michigan QB change
After a serviceable start — Underwood completed six of his first seven attempts on Saturday — the wheels fell off as he went 4-of-14 the rest of the way. He was picked off on back-to-back attempts spanning the third and fourth quarters, the first when Underwood sailed a pass over his intended receiver into the waiting arms of Minnesota sophomore defensive back Aydan West.
