CeeDee Lamb’s home burglarized for $300K in property while Dallas Cowboys star was at training camp

Dallas Cowboys wide receiver CeeDee Lamb’s Texas home was burglarized in late July, and $300,000 worth of property was stolen while he was at training camp, police said.

It’s the latest hit in a string of brazen burglaries targeting affluent athletes in recent years.

Police responded to Lamb’s home in Fairview, Texas, the afternoon of July 31 on a report of a home burglary.

When police arrived, they met with “individuals representing Mr. Lamb” who showed them a broken window on the side of the home where the burglars likely entered, Fairview police said in a statement Sunday.

Evidence pointed to a single suspect entering and exiting through that window, taking “several high-end personal items,” officials said. More than $300,000 worth of property was stolen, including four luxury bags, the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reported, citing the police report.

An investigation remains underway to find the suspect.

The 27-year-old football star was at training camp with the team in Oxnard, California, at the time of the burglary.

NBC News has reached out to Lamb’s representative for comment. Lamb was selected by the Cowboys in the first round of the 2020 NFL draft.

The burglary marks yet another incident in a spate of break-ins targeting high-profile athletes’ homes.

Last month Philadelphia Eagles running back Saquon Barkley’s Pennsylvania home was invaded by a suspect while he and his family were home, police said. No one was injured.

Last year, a 21-year-old Seattle man was charged in connection with burglaries at the homes of four current and former NFL and MLB players, including Seattle Mariners pitcher Luis Castillo and former Seattle Seahawks cornerback Richard Sherman.

Also last year, three men alleged to be part of a theft group from South America were indicted in the break-in at Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow’s home. In that case, more than $300,000 in luggage, glasses, wristwatches and jewelry was stolen, according to the criminal complaint against the three men.
