Chris Pratt Defends His Relative RFK Jr.: ‘For the Most Part, I Wish Him Well’

This article was originally published  by The Epoch Times: Chris Pratt Defends His Relative RFK Jr.: ‘For the Most Part, I Wish Him Well’

The ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ star is married to Katherine Schwarzenegger, a daughter of Kennedy’s first cousin Maria Shriver.

Actor Chris Pratt steers clear of political talking points when interacting with cousin-in-law Robert F. Kennedy Jr., but recently shared insight into his relationship with the Health and Human Services secretary.

During an Aug. 18 interview on Bill Maher’s “Club Random” podcast, the 46-year-old said he’s had nothing but positive experiences on the numerous occasions they spent together.

“Just in a strictly family dinner kind of vibe, I really got along with him well. I think he’s great. I think he’s funny. I like him. I love him,” Pratt told Maher.

The “Guardians of the Galaxy” star is married to Katherine Schwarzenegger, who is the daughter of Kennedy’s first cousin Maria Shriver.

Pratt shared why he is staying out of politics and RFK Jr’s responsibility in the current administration.

“I’m not in politics, obviously, but there’s a certain level to this in Hollywood, because Hollywood in itself is a political institution,” he said.

“I’ve seen how the person you are can be such a contrast to the person that people are being told that you are, and you can go, ‘Wow, that is pure fiction.’ So hundreds of thousands or millions of people are being fed that. And I’m not there to defend myself, nor am I going to jump in and be mired in this story.”

RFK Jr. has remained steadfast in his Make America Healthy Again (MAHA) agenda, vouching for regulations and restrictions on vaccines as well as artificial dyes and additives in food and infant formula.

Through MAHA, RFK Jr. seeks to confront the “reality of American children’s declining health,” specifically by targeting dietary, behavioral, medical, and environmental driving factors.

While Pratt may not agree with RFK Jr. on everything, the “Jurassic World” leading man said he doesn’t press him on the matter, adding that public perception can vary from the truth.

“The person that you are can be sometimes in stark contrast to the person that your enemy is saying that you are,” Pratt noted. “I’m not going to pick his brain to find out exactly which of those things are true. I just kind of assume that none of them are. And for the most part, I wish him well.

“In politics, you inherit enemies. And when you jump in on, you know, the bandwagon with who is, you know, the most divisive president ever, it makes sense that you’re going to be made to look terrible, and so I don’t know what to believe.”
