It’s apparent Jaxson Dart has the skills to become the savior for the New York Giants, but it takes more than those to become a franchise quarterback.
A young QB must be highly mature to become the face of the franchise. Dart, 23, appears to be lacking in that quality.
Jaxson Dart training-camp incident raises questions about his maturity
During Tuesday’s practice, Dart threw a football at cornerback Greg Newsome II’s helmet after scoring a rushing touchdown. The defense didn’t appreciate that. Several defenders exchanged words with the QB after the play.
New Giants head coach John Harbaugh didn’t like it, either. He pushed the extra-point attempt back 15 yards to mimic a taunting penalty.
“I think he understands that for the game-winning extra point, we don’t want it to be a 50-yard extra point,” Harbaugh told the media. “Do you think I need to say anything in that case? It’s pretty clear-cut, right?”
