After helping to put Vanderbilt football back on the map, and finishing as the runner-up for the 2025 Heisman Trophy, Diego Pavia went undrafted in the 2026 NFL Draft. He eventually caught on with the Baltimore Ravens in early May in the hopes of competing for a roster spot, or perhaps even a practice squad spot.
As it turns out, he will not even get a chance to do that.
At least not as of now.
The Ravens waived Pavia on Thursday, less than three months after signing him.
Diego Pavia was always facing an uphill path to make Ravens roster (or any roster)
Pavia was waived on Thursday to make room for Baltimore’s signing of free-agent center Ethan Pocic.
The timing for Pavia is poor because it comes just one day before Ravens rookies were supposed to report for training camp. But even with that, he was always facing extremely long odds to make the team’s roster.
