On Friday, August 1, Kemsley, known for her lavish lifestyle and designer labels on the Beverly Hills iteration of the popular reality franchise, announced her newest career venture: publishing a book!

And although this is an exciting time for Dorit Kemsley, who promises to use this book to tell the “full story” of who she is, some members of the Bravoverse aren’t exactly celebrating.

Kemsley, 49, is gearing up to release her debut memoir, “Unburdened,” in the spring of 2026. During a conversation with PEOPLE about the page-turner, Kemsley revealed why she decided to open up in a way she had never done before.

“For years, people have seen glimpses of my life — but this book is the full story. The beauty, the heartbreak, the fear, the fight and the strength it took to become the woman I am today,” the “Real Housewives” star said. “I am writing this book not just to look back, but to move forward — with determination, grace and honesty.”

Users on Reddit wasted no time sharing their unfiltered thoughts on Kemsley’s book announcement, with one specific user writing, “My bookshelf will be ‘Unburdened’ by not having this book on it.”

Another user replied to that comment and said, “I pity the ghost writer who has to listen to her and sort it out.”

A third user also chimed in and took a jab at the reality star by adding, “I’m sure it’ll be a lovely pamphlet.”

And that wasn’t all members of the Bravosphere had to say about Kemsley’s book.

Another user said, “Honestly, who cares? Like, who wants to read this?” while another asked, “Is she gonna talk about her racism or her trash political views?”

Someone else asked whether Kemsley would be “open about all the schemes” she and her husband allegedly participated in to “steal” and “go bankrupt.”

One user even said Kemsley’s book is “destined to be collecting dust in the Dollar Store shelves after it flops in bookstores.”

Kemsley’s book announcement comes months after she and her husband, PK Kemsley, announced they were experiencing marital troubles. “We had a rough few years,” Kemsley said in the “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” season 14 premiere. “It wasn’t consistently a rough few years, it was just like, good and bad, good and bad. And then it started to get progressively worse.”

During an episode of the “RHOBH” after-show, Kemsley opened up even further about the status of their separation, explaining that there has been “movement,” but “not forward.”

“It’s left to right. I’d love to go forward. And I’m consistently trying to advocate for that,” she said.

Dorit Kemsley Joins The List Of Bravo Stars Who Have Written Books

Kemsley is the latest “Real Housewives” cast member to join the ever-growing list of Bravo stars who have penned memoirs.

The list includes some early-day OGs, such as NeNe Leakes, Bethenny Frankel, Lisa Vanderpump, and Teresa Giudice.

Bravo stars from the network’s other popular shows, such as Carl Radke, Craig Conover, Paige DeSorbo, Kate Chastain, Stassi Schroeder, and Scheana Shay, have also all released books.

And speaking of Shay, the “Vanderpump Rules” star recently reacted to the news of her memoir, “My Good Side,” reaching The New York Times Best-Sellers list.

“SPEECHLESS,” she wrote on social media.

One of the reasons Shay’s book likely snagged a spot on the NYT best-sellers list is that she revealed several scandalous secrets between the pages, from the time she and a cast member scripted a scene on “VPR” to hiding her husband’s (Brock Davies) affair from the cameras during the final season of the show.

In the book, she wrote that discovering her husband’s affair had her “in a state of paralyzed shock” before sharing he had cheated on her “multiple times” with the same woman.

On Shay’s podcast, “Scheananigans,” Davies later appeared and called himself a “coward” for lying to his wife. “That man was a coward, and he wasn’t thinking about protecting you. He was just thinking about protecting himself, saving his face.”
