Re: “State GOP takes a run at ending vote by mail” (June 12, Opinion):
The initiative from the chair of Washington’s Republican Party, Rep. Jim Walsh of Aberdeen, to quash the voting-by-mail system and silence people’s voices plays right into President Donald Trump’s playbook (Project 2025), as is expected. His initiative IL26-126 will cause problems for those with disabilities, rural folks, people who don’t drive, etc. Why is it that we want to make it more difficult? Oh, I’ve already answered that … the Project 2025.
We’ve been using vote by mail statewide since 2011. Where is the problem? Yes, I am a Democrat, but this has been used and enjoyed by Republicans and Democrats for so long. I am against this change. Keep the status quo. Let’s find other more important things to work on.
