ESPN writer says the quiet part out load about Kenneth Walker III

The Kansas City Chiefs are undefeated at 4-0 after their Week 4 matchup against the Las Vegas Raiders, which ended in a 30-27 final tally. It’s certainly something they should be proud of, and while quarterback Patrick Mahomes can take a lot of credit, there’s one newcomer on this team who also deserves some applause.

We’re, of course, talking about running back Kenneth Walker III. The Michigan State University product and former Seattle Seahawks player is totally destroying it on the field in all the best ways.

Kenneth Walker III has transformed the Chiefs offense

In ESPN’s NFL power rankings after a bevy of Week 4 games and going into Week 5, Nate Taylor writes that this team is simply getting the most out of Walker.

“Coach Andy Reid and offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy have no excuses to ever abandon the running game as long as running back Kenneth Walker III is healthy and on the field,” he states in the piece. Taylor even goes so far as to write that “Walker has completely transformed the Chiefs’ offense, allowing quarterback Patrick Mahomes to make more deep completions.”

Walker, he points out, is No. 1 in the NFL with 537 rushing yards and six touchdowns. He’ll become even more important after injuries to offensive players Tyquan Thornton and Rashee Rice, according to Taylor.

So, the Chiefs signed Walker with big hopes. They wanted him to bring the magic that he had when he led the Seahawks to a Super Bowl win to Kansas City. So far, it appears he’s really doing just that. They got what they paid for.
