FANTASYLAND: Pathetic Never-Trump Republicans Predict Democrats Poised for Big Comeback Win in 2028 | The Gateway Pundit

Is there a political sub-class in America that is more out of touch with reality than the dwindling crew known as never-Trump Republicans? It’s a tiny segment of the population, but the liberal media holds them up as if they represent the entire GOP.

Two of them named Gary Alexander and Rick Cunningham have written an op-ed for The Hill which claims that Democrats are set for a big comeback win in 2028 and maybe in 2032 as well.

It seems like little more than wishful thinking.

    Take a look at this:

    — The Hill (@thehill) January 27, 2025

    From the piece:

Despite the doom and gloom narrative from Democrats, they are in a far stronger position than many in the GOP would care to admit. In fact, we believe Democrats are poised as favorites not only for 2028 but also for 2032. The reasons for this go beyond rhetoric — they are deeply rooted in history and strategic realities.

The Democrats’ potential dream team could be Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro (D) at the top of the ticket with Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer (D) as his running mate. This pairing isn’t just formidable — it’s a strategic masterpiece. Together, Shapiro and Whitmer have the appeal to solidify the so-called blue wall — the trio of Pennsylvania, Michigan and Wisconsin that has been pivotal in presidential elections since George H.W. Bush’s victory in 1988.

Do these writers realize that Democrats could have picked Josh Shapiro to be Kamala’s running mate in 2024? Do they know why she didn’t?

People on Twitter/X responded to this silliness.

The never-Trump crowd gets smaller all the time and people just don’t take them seriously. This is one of the reasons why.
