At 64, George Clooney says he’s slowing down his Hollywood career to focus on fatherhood with his wife, Amal Clooney, and their 8-year-old twins.

At the “Jay Kelly” premiere, he reflected on missing family moments for work, joking about being a “carpool dad” and embracing aging in Hollywood.

George Clooney, who rose to fame with “ER,” stars in the film alongside Adam Sandler but insists the story isn’t autobiographical.

George Clooney is easing out of Hollywood, choosing family life over the relentless pursuit of major film roles.

The actor, director, and producer admitted that his focus has shifted, explaining that he no longer feels the need to chase every big project.

“I am not in that mad rush to succeed anymore,” he told Fox’s Extra at the New York Film Festival. “I have had my career in many ways, and you know things were winding down in a way, so I get to be home with my kids a lot, and it’s fun. I’m still young enough that I can run around with them. That is going away quickly. But I can still do it right now. So I am having a really fun time.”

The “Ocean’s Eleven” star, who shares 8-year-old twins Alexander and Ella with his wife Amal, reflected on the challenges of balancing work and family.

George emphasized that the struggle isn’t unique to Hollywood. “It certainly isn’t just a showbiz experience,” he said, per the Daily Mail.

The actor continued, “You probably have these same conversations, and almost every industry has these conversations, which is: ‘I wish I hadn’t missed this thing that my kids were doing when I was working.’ It is coming to terms with the sacrifice you make to succeed in any business.”

George’s latest film, “Jay Kelly,” premiered at the festival. The film follows the story of a celebrated actor, played by George, and his longtime manager, portrayed by Adam Sandler, as they journey across Europe reflecting on love, regrets, and the choices that shaped their lives.

Despite the parallels, George, whose breakthrough came in his thirties when he was cast in “ER,” clarified that the character’s “existential crisis” is not a mirror of his own.

“That is not something I have to worry about,” he said. “I got to be successful much later in life. You can handle those things easier when you are older.”

George attended the premiere with Amal, 47, who stunned in a red mini dress featuring a velvet bodice and floral-detailed skirt.

The couple, who recently celebrated their 11th wedding anniversary with an intimate dinner, shared a lighthearted moment when George was asked how they might mark another decade together. With a grin, he joked, “Mostly be me gumming bread because I’m 64, so I’ll be 75.”

George also took a moment on the red carpet to talk about his children.

“I enjoy my life, I enjoy driving the kids to school and all that stuff,” the Oscar winner said. “It’s fun and we’re having a really great life, a great time with it.”

When asked if he considers himself a “carpool dad,” George laughed and didn’t hesitate to agree.

“I drive a van. The other day, I had six kids singing all the songs from ‘Hamilton’ in the back,” he shared.

The actor also reflected on the realities of aging in Hollywood, a theme that ties directly into his role in “Jay Kelly.”

“You can’t do it well, you just need to make peace with aging in general because there is a lot of judgment,” he admitted.

George Clooney And Amal Clooney Had Their Kids In 2017

George and Amal became parents in June 2017 when they welcomed twins Alexander and Ella, who arrived a month ahead of schedule.

At the time, George’s longtime publicist Stan Rosenfield quipped in a statement, “George is sedated and should recover in a few days.”

The milestone came three years after the couple’s lavish and highly publicized 2014 wedding in Italy.

Interestingly, the “Wolfs” actor later revealed that children weren’t part of their early conversations.

George admitted that he and Amal eventually decided to have children because they felt it would be “self-centered” to keep all their wealth to themselves.

“There was an assumption that we didn’t want them,” he told The Hollywood Reporter in 2017. “And then, after the wedding, Amal and I were talking, and we just felt we’d gotten very lucky, both of us, and we should share whatever good luck we’ve got. It would seem self-centered to just have that belong to us.”

George still remembers the moment they discovered they were expecting twins.

“[The doctor] goes, ‘Well, there’s one.’ And I said, ‘Great.’ And then he goes, ‘And there’s the second one.’ And I was like, ‘What?’ We just sat there, staring at that piece of paper they give you, and I kept thinking there was a mistake,” he recalled.
