Gisele Bündchen Has Reportedly Put Her Career On Hold Amid Her Pregnancy

The supermodel was recently invited to walk the runway for the Victoria’s Secret fashion show earlier this month, but she declined, seemingly due to her pregnancy.

Gisele Bündchen reportedly broke the news that she was pregnant to her ex-husband Tom Brady, who’s said to be “upset” and “stung” and would need some time to process it.

The Brazilian beauty has reportedly made the decision to halt her illustrious modeling career as she prepares to give birth to her first child with her boyfriend, Joaquim Valente.

A source told TMZ that Bündchen “shot some projects all the way up until early October” but that she has “since taken a step back from work to focus on her pregnancy.”

The report comes after she declined to walk the runway for a recently-held Victoria’s Secret fashion show that saw former Angels like Adriana Lima, Candice Swanepoel, and Tyra Banks return to the runway.

Bündchen, a top Victoria’s Secret angel who graced the fashion show between 1996 and 2006 before it took a long hiatus, was invited to return but turned it down due to her pregnancy, according to the Daily Mail.

News broke that she’d taken in in the later part of October, with a source sharing that she was “excited” about it and wouldn’t be rushing to discover the baby’s gender until she conceives.

The 44-year-old supermodel showed off her baby bump on Wednesday while she casually strolled in Miami.

For the outing, Bündchen dressed in a black mini dress that clung to her bump as she ran errands, completing the maternity look with sandals and a chic bag.

It comes after months of seemingly trying to hide the pregnancy in baggy clothes and oversized ensembles.

According to TMZ, she appeared to be hiding her baby bump recently when she was spotted heading towards her car after a Pilates workout session in Miami, Florida.

In photos shared by the news outlet, she can be seen using an oversized light brown purse to conceal her tummy from paparazzi as she walked on.

Sources claim Bündchen would not be walking down the aisle with her jiu-jitsu trainer boyfriend even as they expect their first child together.

The pair have been dating since June 2023, shortly after her divorce from Tom Brady, with whom she shares two children: son Benjamin and daughter Vivian.

They’ve grown close to each other since then, especially as Bündche’s children are said to adore him.

However, insiders have told Page Six that she’ll not tie the knot with him “anytime soon” even though she’s “thrilled” to have taken in for him.

“There is a huge difference between them net-worth wise,” a source said. “There is no point in tempting fate as far as Gisele is concerned.”

Her friends don’t think their bundle of joy would be enough to make her marry Valente, as they expect them to “live together for now.”

Bündchen is reportedly worth tens of millions of dollars after enjoying a lengthy career as one of the world’s most successful models, working with top brands like H&M, Chanel, Victoria’s Secret, and Balenciaga.

According to the Daily Mail, Bündchen’s ex-husband, Tom Brady, reportedly found her pregnancy news “a hard pill to swallow.”

A source told the news outlet that the former NFL star was “stung” and “upset” that she’d taken in and would seemingly need more time to process it.

“Finding out Gisele was pregnant stung,” the insider shared. “Tom had to get out his feelings about it and he did it in his own time.

“There’s not a lot of people who see the Tom behind closed doors, but those that do could see he was upset,” they continued. “It was a hard pill to swallow. It was never something he ever thought was going to happen.”

The insiders added that despite the shock of the pregnancy news, Brady still wants Bündchen to be okay.

“But she is still the mother of two of his children, so he wants her to be OK. He has to move on and with her pregnant, she has definitely moved on, so he can’t be upset about it anymore,” the source said. “It is out of his control, out of his hands. He is not letting it get to him anymore.”

Another source told the Daily Mail that he’s willing to accept his son and daughter’s new step-sibling, the same way Bundchen welcomed his eldest son Jack, whom he shares with his ex Bridget Moynahan.

“Back in the day when they started to fall in love, she accepted and loved his son that he already had, so he is going to give the same respect to her future child,” the source noted. “At the end of the day, everyone is still family.”
